Whenever we buy LCD TVs in the mall, we will always hear the sales staff tell us about hard- and hard-screen LCDs. Perhaps many people will wonder if LCD TVs are good hard screens or soft-screens. It is said that you use your finger to draw on the screen. If there are traces, it is a soft screen. No trace is a hard screen.
What is a hard screen? Hard-screen (IPS) is relative to the soft screen, and it is a concept that many manufacturers have been scrambling for in recent years. IPS technology (In-Plane Switching, plane conversion) is a liquid crystal screen technology introduced by Hitachi in 2001, commonly known as "Super TFT".
What is a soft screen? The so-called soft screen, that is, with the finger across the LCD panel at the same time there will be "ripple", more representative of the Sharp ASV technology, Samsung S-PVA technology and AUO's MVA technology.
Hard screen advantages: The advantages are high viewing angle, fast response, accurate color reproduction. Compared with other types of screens, the screen of IPS screens is relatively "hard." It is not easy for water-pattern distortion to appear when you use your hand to scratch it, so it is also called a hard screen.
The advantages of soft screen: good color performance, strong sense of hierarchy, and heat dissipation.
Disadvantages of hard screen: poor heat dissipation, easy reflection, color depth of field performance is not in place.
Disadvantages of soft screen: The touch will be distorted and the high-speed motion picture will be unsatisfactory.
There are no absolute advantages or disadvantages for LCD TVs with hard screens or soft screens:
1. No distinction between hard and soft screens Hard and soft screens Although there are certain differences in the production process, there is no absolute advantage or inferiority in performance. Hard screens must be better than soft screens. . Hard-screen leakage contrast is poor, soft-screen side to see color distortion, however, hard-screen and soft-screen manufacturers have gradually improved from their shortcomings.
2. The physical properties of the hard screen and the soft screen of the hard and soft screen TV production line are the same, as long as they do not use gravity impact or sculpt with sharp objects, they are not easily damaged. Whether it is a hard screen or a soft screen, it is impossible to determine the quality of LCD TV products, nor should it be the sole criterion for consumers to choose between them. In fact, whether it is a soft screen or a hard screen, it will be broken and damaged when it encounters a sharp impact.
